Xiaomi has dropped its Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 2 Pro with a 3D face scanning function and a large inbuilt display. It is an improved version of Smart Door Lock 2, launched in July. According to Xiaomi, the screen design is more appealing than that of screen speakers, TVs, or other gadgets. Different functions are supported by the camera like detection of abnormal movement and sending reminders to the owner.

In terms of battery, the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 2 Pro uses both lithium and dry batteries. The lithium battery has a capacity of 5000mAh and has the ability to work for 4 months. On the other side, the dry batteries also support up to 4 months of fingerprints and password unlocking. Thus, The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 2 Pro has a dual battery system with a total battery life of 8 months.

The lock uses the battery very carefully to make it last longer. When the battery is full, it uses only that power until there’s only 10% left. Then, it switches to the special mode that saves a lot of power. If the battery is completely empty, it switches to using the dry battery setup for power supply. You can also use a cable to connect a power bank to the lock to unlock it if the battery is empty.

Affective Unlocking

The Smart Door Lock 2 Pro has 10 different ways to unlock it, including using your face, your fingerprint, bluetooth, different od passwords, your Xiaomi phone or watch and an encrypted NFC door card. You can also use a regular key to unlock it.

The Smart Door Lock 2 Pro has launched at the price of 2999 yuan and is currently available at the Chinese e-commerce platform Jingdong (JD.com).
